For example, coal is not renewable, if you burn it you need to extract more coal from the nature. On the other hand, if you are using the energy from water falling from a waterfall, for example, the fact that you use that energy does not prevent the water from falling. Same thing goes for wind, tides, solar energy, bio diesel, etc. It is important to say though, that renewable energy is not necessarily clean energy. Bio diesel for example, we can always replant the vegetable that originated the diesel, but when we consume the diesel, we are polluting the air.
