McKenzie Bay International, Ltd.: WindStor Wind Turbine Performance Testing Update
FARMINGTON HILLS, MI (MARKET WIRE) WindStor Power Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of McKenzie Bay International, Ltd. (OTC BB: MKBY), is pleased to report that after 6 months of testing, its vertical axis wind turbine is providing better than expected operating results. "The WindStor Wind Turbine ("WWT") generated peak power of 104 kW, at a significantly lower wind speed than its 100 kW rated capacity. The WWT is generating more electricity, at lower wind speeds, than originally projected," reported
Wind Turbine to Become Architectural Icon?
The harbor of Las Palmas on Gran Canaria is long overdue for a regeneration of the harbor area, plus the island needs to resolve some energy issues. So Grimshaw Architects has come up with an offshore wind turbine design to take advantage of the trade winds. The structure will give the city its own architectural icon (after all, Santa Cruz on Tenerife has Santiago Calatrava's opera house) and welcome ships into port.
